Jason King – Managing Director

Jason joined JRM in 2009 and has been Managing Director since 2015. Prior to this appointment, Jason has worked extensively in Procurement and Operations over the last 30 years within the Aerospace and Motorsport industries.

Steve Barwick – Head of Engineering

Steve joined JRM in 2022 as Head of Engineering. Steve has 15 years’ experience working in vehicle engineering at OEM level. Previous roles include Engineering Director at a global suspension manufacturer and Head of Mechanical Engineering and later Head of Technical Development in the advanced technologies sector.

Andrew Rostron – Head of Business Development

Andrew joined JRM in 2021 and has previously worked in both technical consultancies and tier one automotive manufacturers. As a qualified engineer, Andrew has worked extensively with vehicle manufacturers for over 20 years, particularly in the European and Japanese markets.

Andy Blackwell – Head of Operations

Andy joined JRM in 2013 and brings more than 25 years of Supply Chain and Operations experience. As Head of Operations, Andy’s experience is crucially important also overseeing the recent Centre of Excellence building programme.

Melanie Dempsey – Group Finance Controller

Melanie joined JRM in 2022. Melanie has 14 years of experience in financial control, financial strategy and operational delivery. Prior to JRM, Melanie worked in financial roles within the engineering and motorsport sectors.

Role: Senior Analysis Engineer

Working within the Engineering team, the Senior Analysis Engineer is required to have vehicle chassis systems experience and understanding.

Key requirements and responsibilities:

  • Ownership and responsibility for system, component, and assembly analysis.
  • Generation of load cases from first principals, running detailed stress and fatigue analysis models.
  • Experience in using Altair structural analysis tools.
  • Good understanding of structures, material properties and applications. Developing static and transient load models including modal analysis techniques.
  • Optimisation of systems for mass and strength utilising optimisation tools such as OptiStruct.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving, experienced user in hand calculation techniques to validate FE models.
  • Experience in fatigue and durability, road load data processing and validation.
  • Ability to work co-operatively with others to complete tasks and implement process improvements and coach other engineers.

Senior Design Engineer

The Senior Design Engineer will have ownership and responsibility for system, component, and assembly design. To create concepts and detailed drawings for manufacture and produce documentation for a wide range of projects and as required to lead the delivery of customer projects.

Key responsibilities and requirements:

  • The ability to manage teams of resource and lead the delivery of projects.
  • To adhere to deadlines, and operational budgets.
  • Define and deliver design requirements and specifications.
  • Produce CAD schemes and manufacturing drawings using Catia.
  • Release parts and assemblies into production, lead change management as required.
  • Prepare and deliver design presentations.
  • Always maintain JRM’s engineering standards.
  • Always maintain best working practices line with JRM process and procedures and health and safety policy guidelines.
  • Lead & support the resolution of issues and initiating corrective actions on a timely basis.
  • Comply, where appropriate with management, & environmental, systems, such as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

CNC 5 Axis Miller Setter/Operator

The CNC 5 axis Miller would be required to produce precision components from 3D computer models and paper drawings.

Key responsibilities and requirements:

  • Carry out machining of components and deliver high quality components to tight schedules.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in a CNC Machine Shop environment with a right first-time philosophy.
  • Set and operate CNC 5-axis machines with Siemens Celos 840D / Heidenhain / Fanuc controls.
  • Create, load, examine and modify CNC programmes.
  • Set up tools and load materials onto CNC machine.
  • Identify and report drawing errors and suggest improvements.• Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties within capability as required by the Line Manager.
  • Compliance with all departmental H&S requirements.
  • Compliance, where appropriate with management, & environmental, systems, such as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.
  • To play an active role in achieving departmental objectives such as cost reduction targets year on year, a reduction of external suppliers and an increase of in-house capabilities.

Senior Workshop Technician

The Senior Workshop Technician would work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to support client and internal projects providing advice and support.

Key responsibilities and requirements:

  • Carry out assembly, strip and rebuild of vehicles, systems and rigs both on event and at JRM’s workshops relating to racing and performance vehicle activities.
  • Ideally possess a qualification such as Level 3 IVQ (C&G) in Motor Vehicle Engineering, Level 3 Diploma in light Vehicle Maintenance and repair or a Level 3 Advanced Race Technician Apprenticeship.
  • The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years working on automotive, commercial vehicle, and or race cars at a minimum of National level.
  • Certain skills such as basic Fabrication, Turning, Carbon fibre repairs, Milling and bench fitting whilst not essential are useful to the role.
  • A clean UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge and experience of vehicle electrical systems is an advantage
